Senior Home Care in La Mesa, San Diego County

La Mesa calls itself the Jewel of the Hills, and anyone who has walked up from the Village knows why. Streets climb, houses step down their lots, and the view is usually earned. Aloha Senior Home Care helps your loved one stay in the house they chose, with warm, non-medical, nurse led care that fits the way La Mesa is built.

From the older homes around Mount Nebo to the streets near Lake Murray, our caregivers bring an extra pair of hands for the stairs, the errands and the long afternoons.

A free consultation, with no commitment. Talk it over with our nurse led team whenever suits you.

Care shaped by the hills

Home Care That Knows La Mesa

Many of the homes here were bought decades ago by people who planned to stay, and they have. The trouble is rarely the house itself. It is the steps from the garage, the split levels, the steep walk to the mailbox. A home that was easy at sixty asks a great deal more at eighty five, and families usually notice it in small ways first: groceries left in the car, a floor of the house that has quietly stopped being used.

Every corner of the neighborhood
  • La Mesa Village
  • Mount Nebo
  • Grossmont
  • Lake Murray
  • Windsor Hills
  • Houses built on a slope

Split levels, front steps and garages below the living space. A caregiver walks those steps alongside your loved one and carries what needs carrying.

  • A Village worth getting to

The shops and cafes along La Mesa Boulevard are a real reason to get out of the house. With someone to go with, a slow morning in the Village stays on the week.

  • The trolley runs through town

Stops at the Village and at Grossmont mean errands are possible without a car, and a caregiver who rides along makes them comfortable again.

  • Long time neighbors

People here tend to know each other. We help keep those visits, card games and church mornings going, because that circle is part of what keeps a week full.

Getting Around the Neighborhood

Hills shape care here more than distance does. Most of what your loved one needs is a short drive away, but a short drive is no use if the walk from the front door to the car has become the hard part. Our caregivers help with that first stretch, then drive or ride the trolley to appointments, the pharmacy and the Village, and bring everything back up the steps afterwards.

Nobody should have to give up a view because the stairs got harder.
How it works

How Care Starts in La Mesa

  1. 1

    A visit at the house

Free, and in person, so we can see the steps, the layout and which rooms are actually lived in.

  2. 2

    The right caregiver

Chosen for temperament as much as availability, and comfortable with a house that goes up and down.

  3. 3

    Adjusting as needs change

Our nurse led team keeps in touch with you and changes the plan when the weeks change.

Neighborhood questions

La Mesa Questions, Answered

What families in the hills ask us first.

Do you provide home care across La Mesa?

Yes. Aloha Senior Home Care serves all of La Mesa, including the Village, Grossmont, Mount Nebo, Windsor Hills and the streets around Lake Murray. Care is non-medical and nurse led, and it is available 24/7.

My father lives in a split level and the stairs are getting hard. What can a caregiver do?

A caregiver walks the stairs with him, carries the laundry and the shopping, and helps arrange the day so the trips up and down are fewer. If the house needs changes such as rails, we will say so and point you to someone who fits them. Anything about his health stays with his doctor.

My mother does not drive anymore. Can a caregiver take her out?

Yes. Our caregivers drive to appointments, the pharmacy and the shops, and can ride the trolley with her if she prefers it. Getting out regularly is one of the most valued parts of care for many families here.

How soon can care begin?

As soon as we have visited and matched a caregiver to your loved one. Call (858) 399-1400 and we will arrange a free visit at the house.
